What to Expect When You Visit
Arona Road Greenhouse is a seasonal garden center, open spring through fall when Western Pennsylvania’s weather is right for planting and growing. While our doors are closed during the winter months, the work never stops—we spend that time planting, growing, and caring for every plant in our greenhouses so they’re healthy, strong, and ready when the season begins.
As spring arrives, the greenhouse comes alive with fresh growth, color, and the excitement of a new gardening season. Throughout the summer and into fall, you’ll find an ever-changing selection of home-grown annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets, and decorative planters—most of which are grown and cared for on-site by our family and team.
When you visit, expect a bright, organized space filled with inspiration and friendly, knowledgeable people who truly love plants. Whether you come with a plan or just to wander, we want your time here to feel welcoming, unrushed, and refreshing.

Our garden shop is closed during the winter months while we focus on growing and preparing plants for the upcoming season.
Do you grow your plants on-site?
Yes—we grow and care for our plants right here in our greenhouses.
Can I visit even if I’m new to gardening?
Absolutely. Gardeners of all experience levels are welcome, and our team is happy to help.
Do you offer events or classes?
Yes! We host seasonal events and workshops throughout the growing season.
Are you pet-friendly?
Yes! Well-behaved, leashed pups are welcome—and our team loves seeing furry visitors.
Is your greenhouse accessible?
We’re continually working to make our greenhouse more accessible each year. Our greenhouse and outdoor shopping paths are fully concreted, with wide aisles designed to make exploring comfortable and easy for everyone.
Is there seating available?
Yes. Benches are located throughout the greenhouse so you can rest, take a break, and enjoy your surroundings.
Do you offer help carrying plants and soil?
Absolutely. Our staff is always happy to assist with carrying plants and purchases to your vehicle.
May I buy gift cards online?
Yes! Gift cards can be purchased online and mailed to you or directly to the recipient. They’re also available in-store in any amount during the growing season.
